Marafi or Marafie (Arabic/Persian: معرفي), he is Mohammad Rafie Behbahani who was born in Mansouriyah (See Map), a suburb of Behbahan City that is located in Khuzestan Province, Iran (Islamic Republic). The reasons are many that forced him to leave his ancestors' land, but he was known for being a trader between Iran and Kuwait since the 18th century A.D. He traded between Iranian cities located on the east coast of the Gulf, such as Khoram-Shahr, and one city located on the west coast of the Gulf, and that is Kuwait. Other cities were added to the list of ports to trade with as his sons took over the profession overtime.
